As a new user to this forum, and a SK98 user since, well, 1998, and from version 1 before that, I have become an avid reader of this forum.

I thought I was happy with SK until I started reading this forum, but now realise that there are other PIM's out there, but there wil never be a true replacement for our beloved Sidekick.

I have just discovered "C-Organizer Pro", which looks very pretty, although it is a much larger program than SK98. It does have some useful things that Sidekick does not, and that is the attraction to me. I have now downloaded the trial and thought I'd run the new and old side by side and see how it goes from there.

Anyway, to the point of writing. I would like to export my databases (about 10) to "C-Organizer Pro". However, in the past (about 10 years ago when I was playing around with DBase), I could never find out how to include the call logs of my contacts within an export. I have to keep very in-depth call log notes of every point of contact I have had with my clients, and to export just the field contents without the call logs would be pointless.

Any tips gratefully received.

Thanks.

I noticed that FAQ only mentions Internet Sidekick as being able to export Card Log information, but I use Sidekick 97 to export my cardlog info in Sidekick 98. I do it regularly, but it is a trick, regardless.

I really would like a database program to do what I do with SK 98 and the card log, but there is absolutely nothing that compares, and I have tried the recent favorites mentioned here. They are junk and fat compared to SK, and NONE of them let me define fields as I did in SK. (That includes C-Org, Essential PIM, and any of the others.) I'm very disappointed in the state of a lot of software nowadays.

What software can I use to import .SKCard files? I agree that Sidekick was great...simple and flexible, but now it won't install on my new WinXP computer, so I need to preserve the data & move on. TIA, Paul

Dear Paul,

See The FAQ pages on my site
specifically:

and

See:
Q28 Msg: "Severe - This installation has detected that a
previous install" (etc, etc)
on faq page 2

If that is the error message that you are getting. Otherwise quote the error message that you are getting.
