Greetings from a newcomer!

Ive been laying out a Book in Indesign with several Documents. I want to export it as a PDF with spreads for my client. While this is easy to do, the problem is that in the PDF file every new document begins on its own page... ie... if the layout was such that the last page of one document would be on the left of the spread, and the first page of the next document on the right, the file does not export this way. Instead, the lastpage of document A appears on its own page and the first page of document B appears on the next page.
Is my description too confusing??? If anyone knows of a solution PLEASE let me know.
Thanks!,
Rit

...when using indesign spreads (readers spreads as they are often known) it will always layout the first on the right and last page on the left (assuming you always work in multiples of 4 pages)...

(back up the original files before playing about, just in case)

...for what you require, the only solution I can think of is to transfer the pages to one document, when working with multiples of four pages the very last page will always be on it's own. Shift select the pages in the pages palette and drag and drop into the previous document...

...I'd advise some caution when doing this though and personally I would probably leave the file as is anyway to save any headaches and time with juggling pages around...

...it is often always in the setup of documents that can save time, for what you require each of your documents would have to have been set up to either start as a spread, end as a spread, or both. This requires inserting the pages from the outset, setting the first page of the second document as an even number and ultilizing the 'keep spreads together' function. This is often required when you wish graphics or text to cover a spread...

Thanks Andrew... yes it seems like combining it all into one document is the only way... I think Ill leave the documents separate to keep things organized though. Thanks for the info.
"or what you require each of your documents would have to have been set up to either start as a spread, end as a spread, or both"
this is very useful advise Ill keep it in mind while tweaking the layout.
Best,

...yes, forgot to mention that when inserting the pages from the outset, setting the first page of the second document as an even number and ultilizing the 'keep spreads together' function, you then need to re-enable the automatic page numbering function for the book too number correctly...
