Hi there,

I've only just started using InDesign and love the program. But don't know much about it yet. I'm trying to make a book, and so far everything seems to work as i want it to. But when i export my files to PSD and view it in Acrobat Reader my images that i pasted in the file are not displayed in good quality. I don't really understand why that is. In InDesign the images are displayed correctly. I've tried using PSD, TIFF or just GIF, but none seem to dislay correctly in PDF.

Please help :)

Printing and exporting PDF files from InDesign allow you to specify the image quality. Check these settings thoroughly.

Unless you are working with Illustrator files that you want to tweak in InDesign, you should place --not paste-- images into InDesign. Check the manual for proper methods of placing of graphics.

I second jimoblak.. always use File>Place (or CTRL + D) to place your images... never copy/paste.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

Thanks. I've used the file -> place methode. The thing is that it looks O.K. in design. Just when i do file -> export and save it as a pdf, and then view it in acrobat reader it doesn't display well. But i'll play around some more, and when i really get stuck i'll just ask again :)

When you save as PDF, make sure you are creating a PDF at the proper resolution... a web view PDF will lack the clarity of a screen view, and even more so than one destined for Print or Press.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
