Export to XML that's readable by Microsoft Office

I'm able to create an XML file using WriteXml, and it looks just fine.

However, when I try to open it in Office applications using VBA, it gives an error that the format is invalid.

Is there any way to direct the output to persist in a format easily readable by Office VBA code?

Thought for certain that different MS products would create XML that worked together ...

Thanks in advance.

There are several versions of XML it seems likely you are using a more current version of the XML format in VS. I think XML is up to 2.2 (not totally sure as I don't use much XML) as the most common format and maybe VBA need 1.0 or something. I'm not sure as I've never used XML with VBA.

Sorry, I was getting RSS version confused with the XML version. RSS uses XML version 1 (which is current) and RSS version 2. Which means I have no clue what might be wrong. Sorry for the misleading info.
