I'm creating an animation in flash to put onto a VHS tape. I have already done all the formatting and adjusting for the frame rate. The individual putting this onto tape for me needs to have it as either an AVI file or MOV file. When I try to export to avi, the picture is extremely distorted (and I don't mean being squashed or out of proportion) and the sound is all messed up, there is just ticking sounds. When I try to export or publish to mov, the picture is just fine and the animations work great, but there isn't any sound.

Could someone help with what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks so much!!

Actually, I'm not the one putting it onto tape. He just wanted me to give him the file and then he would output it to tape. But no, I do not have a video card with a vcr (or tv) output. But I don't see how that would make a difference.

It would of just simplified the whole process, without having to export it as an .avi or .mov. I've done it often with my ATI card... Just played the Flash movie and recorded it on the VCR or to a DV camera.
As for exporting as an .avi or .mov, I've never experienced the problems you're having. Are you on MAC or PC?
