Export text from InDesign CS

I would like to export text from InDesign, but the only option for this I get is Adobe InDesign Tagged Text. Apparently .txt (ascii text) and .rtf (rich text format) are controlled by the Sangam Service Mapper plug in, and the Sangam Text Writer plugins. I have all of these installed, but ID isn't recognizing them as available. Any ideas why not?

Try exporting text using a different tool.

Are you using the black arrow selection tool now? Try clicking the text tool inside the text frame that you want to export.

No go. The black and the white arrows just give me pdf, eps, and some other stuff I don't want for this purpose.

Righto. Sorry for the confusion. Selecting with the text tool was my first choice, and it only allows me to export as Tagged Text.

When you select the text tool, touch anywhere inside a text block, and go Export, in the dialogue box that appears, Adobe InDesign Tagged Text will show up as the default.

But an up-down scroll bar should appear to the right of the Format box and when you click-and-hold on the bar, the following list of options should appear:

Adobe pdf
eps
InCopy Story
InDesign Interchange
JPEG
Rich Text Format
SVG
SVG Compressed
Text only
XML

I know that's how it should work, but these are my only choices:

Adobe InDesign Tagged Text
Adobe pdf
eps
InDesign Interchange
JPEG
XML

Frustrating. I guess I'm about ready for a re-install.
