I have a client that is exporting PDF's from Quark 6.5, when the PDF file is viewed, the page has rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise. We went over the export options and couldn't find any settings that would cause the rotation. Can someone offer up a solution, please?

Hi bacrafty1
I exported a page in Quark 6.5 on os 10.3.9 to PDF and can't find anything that would cause the page to rotate on export, even if i change the orientation it stills comes out straight up.
I'm sure that you have gone under view in the PDF file in Adobe Reader and chosen to rotate the page clock wise to get it back to normal viewing.
Even tho the page is rotated have you looked at print preview to see if it would print correctly?
Hope this helps

I actually had the client use Adobe Acrobat, full version, to rotate the pages before submitting. That works great for a quick fix, but would LOVE to be able to figure it out. Will work at me like a needle...lol.

Thank you so much for the time and trouble in trying to replicate the problem. I haven't been able to do that myself. Not sure my company would fly me out to Denver to figure it out though...

I am sorry MarcuStringer, I didn't receive an alert that I had received a post and I haven't had the opportunity to get back here. I finally had the client to rotate the pages within Acrobat. We tried to correct the problem in a couple of different ways. Export and File Print were two of the ways. It always came out the same. It is a finished and printed product now. If anyone should ever come up with an answer, I sure would be interested in case it comes up again.

Thank you for trying to help!

I have had the same problem of the rotating pages.
But it doesn't always happen.

Anyone figure something out?

I did have that problem some years back, and could never figure it out. That was one of the reasons we switched to InDesign. Much more Adobe-ness!

I agree with InDesign. Unfortunately, not all my customers do :(
In the meantime, I have to rotate in Acrobat, that is the only solution I have found at this time....

Thanks to all who have posted and advised. I appreciate all the assistance!

I used to work in a company with six other designers and it happened to us ALL THE BLOOMING TIME! It's really annoying and made us look really unprofessional. We never did work out why it was happening, or how to put it right.

I agree - use InDesign. It's 1,000,000 times better, and it's Adobe so makes pdfs like a dream.
