EXPORT MESSAGES IN OUTLOOK EXPRESS 2

I am trying to export my messages from Outlook Express so that I can save them to my hard drive. So I clicked file;Export;Messages... and then it says: This will export messages from Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange." When I press OK, I get a message that reads: "Export could not be performed. An error occured while initializing MAPI."

Is anyone familiar with this error to know how to correct it? Thanks.

It doesn't sound like you have Outlook installed on the system which is needed to use that export function.

If you just want to backup your messages then try the following article.

I was able to export the messages when I had Outlook Express 5,several months ago by doing file/export... Maybe since I downloaded Outlook Express 6...?
