I have configured a new mail server and want to export some domains with user account and mails. Can this be done easily. I've tried to copy some mails between servers but when I place them in the "new" folder the user can not connect to the server. Any help would be appreciated!thanks!

Sorry for the lack og details. Written in a hurry..I'm moving qmail to qmail. The mailserver is configured according to qmailrocks.org. Using IMAP and Maildir. Hope this somewhat helps..

I would think you'd want to proof the build of the new server before moving email. If you get your hostnames and control files correct, users should be able to open empty maildirs without issue. Then you could copy the messages into the maildirs and enjoy.

The new server is up and has been tested, but when I copy mail into the "new" directory the users can not connect to the mailserver (getting an internal error when they connect using outlook). I then have to delete the mail I've copied then it will work again. I thought copy mail from a maildir to another would work without any problems but it doesn't seem that way
