In Microsoft Project 2000, is there a way to export the Gantt chart view to a picture file or Adobe pdf format?

Thanks.

I don't think so, but Project 2003 is supposed to come with the ability to export to PowerPoint, Word or Visio. I don't know how well this works yet as I'm still waiting for Microsoft to send me the demo CD I ordered...

there are a couple of excellent options you can use...not built in, sadly, but they remain effective.

get the gant view onscreen you want

print to adobe distiller.

you can write macros to build the gant views and automatically select the distiller output.

2003 is supposed to make this much easier

I figured it out. To save to an Adobe Acrobat file, I simply open the Print dialog box (File-->Print) and in my list of printers is a device called "Adobe PDFWriter". I select that device, click OK, and I'm prompted with a Save dialog box so I can save the file. I have the feeling this is not standard. My firm may have added this feature it as a part of their standard setup for Project 2000. Nonetheless, it is sweet.

ORBNSC, Did Microsoft send you the demo disk, i.e. have you had a chance to try exporting Gantt's to Power Point.

Thanks,

Jimmie

in the 2002 version there is a camera button at the top that will produce a gif file. You have to have the view you want on the front.

I'm having problems getting enough rows on the screen for the view I want. The horizontal view is fine, but the vertical is too small. Anyone help on this?

With any windows program you can hit alt-print screen and then start ms paint and paste it. That will give a view of the entire window though including file edit etc
