Export File formats

I am on the receiving end of exported Aloha data, DBF format. Our import application reads these files, as well as the binary LOG file, and imports the data in SQL Server. What are the Aloha export file type options, e.g., DBF, CSV, etc.? Also, can the binary LOG file (e.g., T070312.LOG) be exported in another format? Thanks.

If you are talking manual export (user clicks export) or getting the data straight from the DBF files.

You can manually export into these formats.

Rich Text, CSV (no good with aloha), Plain Text

I've written a program that sniffs for three files to be exported by the managers into RTF. Once they have been exported by the manager, my software pops and ask for a bit of infomation(deposit bag number, the morning, mid, and closing mgr) and so on and then drops it in a sql database and emails off to the corporate office.

Thanks for your reply. Too bad CSV is no good with Aloha. I'm using the Microsoft FoxPro Table driver to open the DBFs in our application and I'm concerned that someday that driver may be inadequate should Aloha upgrade or revise their export formats. Can you describe what the RTF output looks like?

As far as I know, data that is output from the grind process are all in DBF format. Reports can be dumped into TXT files in various formats as well.

RTF usually stands for Rich Text Format, its just a text file that supports formatting (i.e. Bold text)
