Hi,

I have a drill down report that i need to export to pdf.
to get the drill down facility, I used 'HIDE' option for the groups. The drill down works in crystal.
But when I export the crystal report to PDF, I could not see the hidden groups.
Please suggest me what to do while exporting a drill down report to PDF. Is it possible to export a drill down report to Excel?
Can someone suggest the precaustions to be taken while exporting to different formats??

Thanks a lot,
Rams.

I think that PDF shows just what was visible on your report at the time. Not the extra Crystal functions like drill-down.

Thanks Madawc.
Is there any procedure to export the drill down reports in to pdf so that we dont miss any data?

Thanks.

You have to EXPAND all the drill-down sections / sub-reports BEFORE the PDF export.

Like Ido said, you could make the "EXPAND ALL" option a parameter at runtime.

Thanks a lot for the help.
I think parameter to control whether detail section is suppressed works.
But need to check out with my BA.

How do the parameters reports work while scheduling?
Do I need to default the parameter options while scheduling?

Also Is there any way to default the Dynamic cascading prompts while scheduling?
Can somebody please provide some notes on the Administering the reports scheduling and administration briefly..
That would be really helpful.

That would depend on what tool you are using to schedule. Some tools allow you to override saved parameter values using command line arguments.

- Ido

view, email, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

i use Business objects enterprise. I have to schedule them in the infoview and manage using cmc

To my knowledge all report schedulers including my own just export the main report. Drill downs and On Demand Sub reports are live user interaction, and the report scheduler doesn't invoke them.

A solution however is to create a variation of the report that just does the drill down for one group, selected by a parameter. Then schedule this using my "multirun" feature to create all the drill downs for all values of the group and export the results to multiple PDF files. Can even do multiple levels with a parameter for each level.

You could even mimic the effect of a drill down by creating a hyperlink from a field in the main report to each of the PDF files.

There was an article about how to do this Crystal Clear 55, April 2005.
