Hi. Thanks for reading. I am trying to export search data into an Excel spreadsheet. In particular, when you do a search it gives you name, location, date modified etc... for a certain file. I want to be able to extract my search data to an excel spreadsheet. I found a program that does this if I have a particular file name. Like I want all the files with smith in the name, but I need one that gets the advanced search too. Like Smith in the name of the document, but smith could also be somewhere in the file too. Thanks!

Hi,

What application are you EXPORTING from?

Just from Microsoft XP. Searching within the program itself. Once I get the search telling me where it is I just need to be able to export to a csv, excel, etc... Thanks!

Then you're not EXPORTING anything.

You are searching for one or more files, correct?

Do you want to IMPORT files into Excel or am I missing something?

What does cvs have to do with it?

Please explain what your objective is.

There is no program called Microsoft XP. There is an operating system called Microsoft Windows XP that has an application called Windows Explorer which contains search functionality, and there is also an office suite called Microsoft Office XP, which has a number of applications within it that also have search functionality. There is also a seach facility straight off the start button within Windows XP itself.

You need to be very crisp with what you are after and what you are using, as the answer can be very different depending on which program you are actually using.
