Hi out there

Is there a simple way to export the tables (and maybe the relationships as well) of an Access 2003 Database into SQL-Format, so that it can be read into mySQL?

Or does anyone have another suggestion on how to transfer a database from Access to mySQL?

Thanks in advance for pointing me in the right direction
Simon

There are a few ways to go about doing this. First, if you are simply transfering your database from Access to mySQL, mySQL provides some new GUI tools (still in Beta) which include a data "upgrade" wizard. It will do all the work for you, making new tables in mySQL that are just like your access tables. Then you just have to do a little research and make sure the data types are right - particularly when dealing with autonumbering. (A date added field will be required in mySQL, while it isn't in Access.)

If, however, you want the data to be pushed or pulled into a different set of tables in mySQL, that's different. If that's the case, let me know - I'll throw out some ideas.

Love it too!!

Thanks so much for this hint!
