Exporer pops up Uhhhhhhh?

Ok,
A bit of a weird one. Working away in win2k pro and for no reason the program that I am working on minimises and windows explorer pops up in its place, exploring from my computer. Sometimes I don't even have to be touching the thing and POP! there it is again.
Any clues?

Have you checked for viruses? Do you have up-to-date virus protection?

beerhunter speaks the truth. scan for virii & trojans.

also, check to see of "sticky keys" is enabled in the accessibility options. the feature is intended for the typing impaired and uses hotkey functions without requiring that the key combo be pressed simultaneously.

thanks for your replies guys,
first thing I suspected was a virus but I am fully up to date with Norton AV defs and scan is clean. Checked out sticky keys but its not enabled.
Still scratching my head I'm afraid???????

does it happen in SAFEMODE? is it confined to a particular prg or any prg?
almost sounds like someone logged into your computer... you have an "always on" internet connection?
