Explorer won't load webpages!

i downloaded one of those spyware/pop up blockers(ultimate pop up blocker) now my windows explorer won't load webpages. the page " The page cannot be displayed" acts like not connected to internet.. but netscape and messengers and outlook express works. so i know my DSL is fine!! someone told me i probably need to uninstall explorer and reinstall. i didn't know you could do that... but customer rep at DSL company..said it is tricky..you need to do it right or hire someone to do it. any help or quick fix?

Look in your online setup and see if you need to make any "proxie" settings. I know the program "Add-Subtact" needs a certain port set or I get "404's" on all sites.

ok i am partiioally pc dumb exactly what you mean online setup amd proxies? i know the word but not clear exactly what it is?

ok my computer is out to get me LOL when i try to run that file..it tells editing registry disabled by administrator!!!!!

i get that same message everytime i want to bring up task manager..i i run file for that...but only works til i reboot again... why all of a sudden all these administrator errors?

There is no question that the utility discussed in faq779-4625 makes registry edits. This is how it works better than the MS KB articles I include at the end of the FAQ.

. If your site admin has decided that you should not and cannot make these sort of changes; I will not help you to circumvent the admin wishes;

. having said the above, this is actually the result of a very commen virus infection. Run the Trend Micro and Panda online AV scans from smah's FAQ: faq760-3862

okcan someone take my hand and walk me throug this i tryed to download the panda and trend micro... thrend micro said i needed to downlaod House Call.. I tryed halfway through..it said can't read///panda saie error unknown address or something?
