Explorer will not start after logon

Not real sure what happened but all my users lost access to the server so, I rebooted. After rebooting, it takes forever (10 minutes) preparing network connections and then I logon. After logon, explorer starts and then dies. I never get a desktop and my users still cannot connect. I can open task manager and from there start a snapin. Alot of services are not starting and it looks pretty ugly. Any idea's would be great. I have scanned for virus's from the command prompt. None found.

Can it start in safe mode if it does then you might be able to collect some more info?

Has anything changed recently?

Nothing has really changed that I am aware of. I cannot start in safe mode either. No matter what, Explorer will not run
