OK...I'm sure we've all encountered the nefarious "Explorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed" message. I have a friend who's getting this every time he tries to open any file from within explorer. His friend is running Win2K professional and my friend has tried applying all current service packs and critical updates. The user was previously not even patched with SP1 but even after the application of SP3 and all the other patches and updates the issue persists. Any thoughts on how to resolve this that don't involve the words "format" or "reimage"? : ) Thanks in advance for any help.

Has the machine been checked for viruses? CJ

Don't drink and post, save that for driving home!

I would check your Hardware. Very common fault when one of your memory sticks is faulty.
