Explorer closes after page loads 1

IE 6 just closes without error when ever my homepage is done loading.

Virus scan and spyware scans have not revealed any cause. I'm sure I'm not the first person to ever have this happen but for the life of me I cannot seem to locate a post that deals specifically with it.

Any info or help would be great.

Very odd. Does de-selecting 'enable third-party browser extensions' in Internet options, Advanced tab help at all?

I was having the same issue and the reg edit seemed to work. Does anyone know why this happens?

Mis-install of IE 7 Beta is the most common reason.

Also, an interaction between Yahoo Toolbar and recent Microsoft security hotfixes can do this.

I believe at the moment you have to uninstall the toolbar with Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.

For Internet Explorer 3 Beta, there is a hotfix for this issue from Microsoft:

Exactly what I was looking for bcastner, thank you. the issue was exactly that. Uninstalling Yahoo tool bar fixed the problem. I had it on multiple systems and knew it had to be something update related
