I have a client with IPO who wants to locate an analog extension module on a different floor (same building) from the Main Unit.

I don't think this will work due to limits on Exp. Unit cable length.

Has anyone had this situation, or heard of possibly running an optic fibre cable with transceivers to connect the Main Unit to the Expansion Unit ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Will not work,just use a 25-pair cable.

Isn't there a limit on the length of the interconnection cable between the Main Unit and the Expansion Unit?

At least that is what I have been told by another vendor.

The expansion units come with a 1m interconnection cable. Although this seems like a regular patch cable, it is not recommended to use anything other then this cable.

Expansion modules, except the WAN3 module, use a 1 meter (3'3'') cable supplied with the expansion module. No other cable should be used. Even though it seems like a regular patch cable, if you use anything other then the cable supplied with the expansion units, you will run in to problems.
