I have a problem with a BCM 400 3.7. The original problem was that all the media bay modules were flashing red In the main cabinet and in the exp cabinet. I ended up replacing the MSC card and the main cabinet modules syc'd up but the cards in the exp cabinet still will not come up and show unequipped in programming. Any Ideas?

Make sure the cable between cabinets is seated good and not damaged. Make sure it is the proper cable- it specific to the BCM.

bcm400 3.7 does not need an expansion keycode.

Keycode only required for bcm450 expansion

did you plug the cable into the MSC card rj45 port for the expansion unit

Do not plug it into the LAN ports it wont work there

I'm going to try and make a replacement cable and see if it makes a difference.

I had this problem on a BCM 400 3 years ago. We moved the BCM off the floor and into a rack mounted cabinet. I'd thought I be clever in replacing the existing RJ45 cable as it was a good 3 meters long and I only needed a short cable.

It took me a while to figure out that I had to have the same RJ45 cable connected. I'm guessing that it has something to do with the cable length. I never bothered to find out why as it was working again.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Tried making a cable the exact lenth as the old one still no success. When I get a window to shut the system down I'm going to check all the dip switches.

SupportDude,
I never knew the cable supplied was specific.
That might explain the situation I am having right now.
Although it might also be the 25 pair amphenol cable?

We had issues with a home made cable, the Nortel one was £99, but found that a shielded 5m cable worked fine for £10
