Okay here it goes. I am trying to improve a small business network. Currently there are 8 computers on the network with plans on expanding. Currently they have SBC Dsl and a Linksys wireless G router. A server and copier are directly connected to the router, and everyone else is connected wirelessly. The office is not large but a couple of the Pc's get a terrible connection. I was thinking of getting rid of the wireless and putting in hard lines... Can I plug a Switch directly into the router? and if so which port would it go into? Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

We have a small to medium size office here. About 20 computers online. We have two routers and a switch. One Router is a wireless and the other is hardwired. Depending on the router you have - with most new routers if you put them in the 4 slots available they are intelligent enough to know if its and uplink line or not and be able to feed your network. Hope that helps any.

You stated ou have the copier/printer directly connected to the router, simple solution is use this port to connect to the switch, this connection could be crossed or uncrossed UTP (depending on auto MDIX being on both devices) and the copier/printer would connect to the switch.
