I need to go to a client site this week and add a FSM. The system already has a 2 port expander in it. So I need to add a 6 port expander and take out the 2 port. I will put the 2 fiber cables on the six port on the top 2 ports 8 and 7 to keep the same config. Then plug the new FSM into port 3 on 6 port expander. Please confirm this is correct...

Many Thanks
Steve

What is an FSM?

I would normally put stations on the bottom and trunks on the top.

I assume its Fiber Station Mod and curly is correct start the station mods at the bottom. One thing don’t panic if the system does not come back up on 5 minutes or so give it time. If it starts to boot with the 6 port then let it complete with the 6 port fiber. If you don’t and you unplug and put the 2 port back in and fire it up. Then the system will more than likely default on you and you’ll lose all of the programming.
