Hi there...I am working with a form and a subform that are linked through a reference number...when loaded...i would like the subform to display all entries from the table on which the subform is based that are related to the main forms reference number...also, as the user enters new records to the subform, the new entries must show up as well...

Name of Main Form: frmmainfrm
Name of Sub Form: frmreleasesubform
Name of Table Sub Form Based On: tblrelease
Name of field for reference Number: ref_number

Any help on this matter would be great as i am relatively new with access...thanks!!!

Hi

I do not uderstand your question, what you describe is standard from/subform behaviour, all you need to do is ensure that you set the link criteria in the properties of the sub form Control on the main form

Am I missing something?

maybe you did...maybe not...i am very new to access...i was originally stating that i wanted the subform to start off with one line of text boxes for data entry...but as the user entered more information (through the use of a button)...i wanted a new set of text boxes to appear along with the text boxes with the orignial data...i ended up making a query to appear that is requeried whenever the table is altered...thank you for your interest in my question and if you have any more efficient alternatives to my solution i would be all ears...thanks!!!
