Executing stored procedures in batch mode from middleware!

Hi,
A stored procedure times out when the middleware calls this SP for opening a DB2 cursor in real-time. the middleware waits for the SP's response to come back but finally it times out. Is there a way of triggering this SP in batch mode from middleware so that there is no time out of the SP?

The SP is running on the mainframe OS390.
