execute stored procedure with job

I was wondering if I executed the following sp through Access so that i could start a job, would access wait till the job would finish or would it give me a time out due to the fact that the job is extensive?

exec sp_start_job @job

When you start a job like that, it doesn't wait for the job to finish at all. As soon as it starts the job, the proc is finished and returns control immediately.
