Hi

Does anyone know how to make unix files executable automatically?

e.g. The directory has been made executable and a perl script is putting files into it.

But they are not running automatically because they are not being made executable

I thought by just putting the files into an executable directory they would automatically be made executable....but no.

Any ideas?

Or is it the Perl program that needs to be amended?

Many thanks

Thiko!

Run a cron job after the files have been created to change the permissions on the files.

Thiko,

When do you want these generated scripts to run?

Do you want them to run just the once or every so many minutes/hours/days/weeks? Mike

Email welcome if you're in a hurry or something -- but post in tek-tips as well please, and I will post my reply here as well.

Thanks for your help everyone!

Looks like the problem is with the cgi script so we're going down a different track.

Thank you anyway!

Cheers

Thiko!
