Executable calls Visual Foxpro msi file

I'm trying to install a patch for an Excel add-in. The patch is an exe file. Whenever I run it the VFP install screen appears and it is looking for the msi file. How can I install the patch without calling visual foxpro functions.

Strange, a similar thing sometimes happens to me with Office, some acion triggers an Office setup/repair.

Does the Excel Patch EXE relat4e to Foxpro in any manner? Is the add-in a COM Server done in VFP? Do you by any chance use and automate VisualFoxpro.Application?

The patch is from our ERP provider (Infor) to provide a financial add-in with Excel. So, no, it is not Foxpro related. No, it is not a COM from VFP. Don't know if VFP is automated - how to check and/or release the setting?

I don't know. If I have the problem with Office I also only retry. No idea how this is triggered.

One thing for your notice: VFP is not an MSI installation, on it's CD it has a setup.exe
What version of VFP is triggered? Is it VFP or just ODBC driver or similar?

I remember seeing something like this some years ago at a client site. I'm sorry, but I don't remember how we dealt with it. If I can find any further information, I will post it here, but don't hold your breath.

The main difference in my case was that the client's systems did have a VFP runtime installed (but not the msi file, as far as I know).

Actually the plug-in might trigger something like Driveletter:\setup.exe, which could be any setup, just coincidentally your computer relates this path to the VFP setup, as that was located in the same drive, when you installed it.
