Help please.

I am getting major problems with exchange at startup, infact it just wont start after a re-boot. The only thing I have found to work is to re-instal SP2 and then without re-starting the server, I start the services.

I have Exchange running on the second DC in my domain. The machine is a GC.

These are the events in the order logged after a re-boot. The second error is rather strange as it is being logged on a DC, surely it should see the AD??

I have tried telneting to port 389 and LDAP appears to be working ok.

After this I re-installed SP2 and started the services manually. The services are still running now, 16:54 20/04/06 but history dictates that a reboot will see them fail.

Has anyone come accross this or a similar problem?

Regards
Vince

I'd try looking those up at eventid.net - there's a wealth of info there.

Pat,

I have spent days looking these events up and have got nowhere.

I find Google is a much better bet as it gives you pages from eventid.net as well as digging out those imposible to find microsoft pages.

What would you do if this was your server?

Regards

Vince

For the error ids: 1030 and 1097

Follow these steps to resolve:
1. Stop the Kerberos Key Distribution service
2. Stop the TCP/IP Netbios Helper
3. Start the Kerberos Key Distribution service first
4. Next start the TCP/IP Netbios Helper

This error may occur again after rebooting the server, so go through these steps again to resolve.

Thanks
