I have recently set up an exchange server 5.5 SP4 running on the inside of my pix firewall.

Thanks to the help of responses on this site all is working well.

But I am now faced with a small dilema.

Our president uses a mobile computer and spends about 50% of his time at another facility. I am trying to decide the best way to handle access to the exchange system while out of the office. Obviously when in our facility he can connect using the private ip of the server. But when not in our facility, can he connect? What has to change on his side? I can point to the translated ip on the pix, but from some of the posts I have read here this does not seem to work properly. We do have OWA installed and working, I also currently have pop3/smtp access from outside, but this does not give all the funtionality of exchange so...

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to best handle this?

I would sure appreciate any siggestions!!

Actually think I may have found the answer to this one myself.

Apparently I had a bad config statement on my router that did not allow me to see the outside translated address of the Exchange box from the inside net.

After fixing this route statement I am able to connect to the Exchange server using its public ip address from inside our firewall.

I am going to check connectivity later from outside our firewall using the same public ip settings and see if I am able to connect, if it works problem sovled.

Thanks

Don
