Hi,

I have recently had to do a full backup from tape on a windows SBS server.

The machine is up and running fine now.

Before the restore I was able to mount the old drive and copy data files across my network using BartPE.

My question is this...can I copy the MDBDATA folder from my network backup into the restored server?

Of course I would back the existing folder up before trying it.

Will exchange mount the store?

Hope someone can advise me what to do.

Regards,

Peter.

It should mount the store, assuming you put them in the same location as that specified in Exchange.

You'd be better off reading up on some disaster recovery tasks before trying anything, though.

Hi,

I assume I will have to dismount the private and public stores before copying the MDBDATA out?

Thanks for the help.

Peter.
