We have an exchange 2000 server that has been shutting down every weekend for the past month. When we come in on Monday morning we must restart the server in order to bring the exchange service back up.

Any suggestions on what to look for, what to track would be helpful.

Did you check the event logs?

I'm Certifiable, not certified.
It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

Yes, We have looked at them, and have explored some of the events as a cause. No luck so far - is there an event we should key in on? We also have Norton Anti Virus for Exchange, Symantic Exchange Filtering and GFI mail essentials running on this server? Relay services are shut down.

Any other pointers or ideas would be helpful.
Thanks

Do you have a UPS connected to Exchange. Looks like a power surge.

Yes - we have a UPS connected........any other ideas? Thanks!

Do you have a memory leak that causes the services to shut down?

It could be something real simple... IE... do you have a janitorial staff that cleans up over the weekend? If they need a place to plug in that vacume cleaner, they may not care that a server is already plugged in to that spot.
