We have migrated from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2002 Server, following this a number of users are getting the following error message.

"Unable to update public free/busy data. You do not have suffcient permission to perform this operation on this object. See the folder contact or your system administrator"

Please note the client we are using is outlook 2000.

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

try typing this in the run dialog box

"c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe."
/cleanreminders

Outlook will then try to dowlnload new information from the Exchange server.

Alternatively if this does not work then try recreating a profile on another machine. Test out the profile to make sure all is ok. If it is then delete the profiles form the affected machines, and recreate them. It souldn't make a difference to your users or to Exchange as you are only working on the Client machines.

Let me know how you get on

P.S. be sure to ask someone who is affected to test the new profile out, to make sure all is working ok before you delete the profiles
