Exchange running slowly

Hi Guys!

This one needs your help. I have Exchange 5.5 sp4 running on an NT server with 512m ram and 800mhz processor. It's been running fine for over six months now.

However now atleast two users out of 10 receive their emails up to 2hrs after other users on the same server. Even when the mail was copied to serveral users. Also when some users click on attached word docs they open within seconds whereas others opening the same doc take up to 5mins.
What could be causing the Exchange server to respond so slowly??????

Use performance wizard it should clean up your database

Sounds good but how do you use perforamce Wiz? Where in Exchange do I find it?

Its located Programs>Microsoft Exchange>Microsoft Exchange Optimizer

Performance wizard (optimizer) will not clean up the database. All it does is analyze your system to determine where to place various files.

Are you running an antivirus program for Exchange? This is a possible cause, but an unlikely one. What you should do is run the isinteg utility on the priv.edb. If you need specific instructions, e-mail me at either bob.robinson@gd-ns.com (day) or fuego007@mindspring.com (evening).
