Hi all
I am currently trying to setup exchange with multiple domains. I know that I need to use recipients but what I want to be able to do is when I setup a new user account I would like it to apply the correct recipient policy. How do I do this, please help.

Cheers

Unfortunately you can't set exchange to give users a set of SMTP addresses based on what group they're a member of. I found that the easiest way to do it is to set up a policy that checks the "company" field of a user account. If it finds a match, it will apply the policy.

How to do this?

Open Exchange system manager

Open the recipients subtree, then the Recipient Policy object

Right click on Recipient Policies and select new.

Check only the E-mail Addresses policy

Click on Modify on the General Tab

Uncheck all boxes except "users with exchange mailboxes"

Select the Advanced Tab.

Click on the Field button, mouse-over "user", then select company from the list.

The "condition" is automatically "starts with" (don't change)

Set the Value field to <company name> (whatever you want)

Click Add, then OK (you should be back at the policy properties screen. Your filter rule will look something like this:

(&(&(&(& (mailnickname=*) (| (&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user)(|(homeMDB=*)(msExchHomeServerName=*))) )))(objectCategory=user)(company=nono*)))

Select the E-mail Addresses tab and add all the domains that should apply to this set of users.

Open each user account that should be affected by this policy and make sure that the company name is set on their account and that "Automatically update based..." is checked on the E-mail addresses tab of the user properties.
