I am a novice to exchange...please help if you can! I am running Win Server 2003 with Exchange server 2003 on the same box (I know its a no no, but we need to watch costs). I have a router in line for the internet connection, but am running DHCP on the server. My ISP just sold out to a new company which decided to change our IP addresses. I changed our router WAN IP and Gateway and DNS's as requested. Internet is fine. Can send email out through exchange fine, but now I can not recieve mail. They suggested that my exchange IP was not correct. I do not think we have a public IP. (We remotely access email using our IP/exchange method). What am I missing?

First verify that the MX record points to the right "new" IP. It takes up to 24 hours for this to propogate.

You say you have a router in between the Internet and your server. Is this by chance a Firewall? Verify that NAT is setup to route from the new IP to the server.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

Your exactly correct. I had a brain fart and forgot about the MX pointer!

Many thanks!
