My exchange module on 8.6 shows the mailboxes (brick level) and I can backup and restore them fine. I do not see the Information store since converting to E2k like I did with 5.5. What did I miss on installation? I am connecting as my exchange admin account.

More info on the build of 8.6.
Have you delegated control from your exchange organisation to the backup exec service account ?
Make sure your license supports E2k.
failing that re-install the agent - you should at least be able to see the exchange information store.
you could also try dropping in a new pvl.mdb to test if the BE database is corrupt - you can get that from the cd.

Thanks Suprecky

Currently my exchange admin account and my backup exec service accout is the same account. However, now that you mention it, I am not sure if I have the BE service starting on the exchange box AS that account.

I did reinstall the E2k piece with the verification of the license.

I have not tried dropping in a new pvl.mdb.

Let me try that.

Starting the remote agent service on E2k as my service account didn't appear to do the trick.

i see and can backup alll mailboxes just fine. I have even restored mailboxes just fine. I just don't see the IS which means I am probably missing my public folders also.

This has been my experience with 5.5 also. It's why I am dumbfounded. If I can see bricks fine it should have the correct access.

I just tried the link and bounced both services. Still seeing only bricks. I might have to place a call to Veritas on this one.

try the restrict anonymous support key technote, apply it to both the media server and remote.

I have this a shot and also went over to my E2k server and started all of the Exchange services as the exchange admin account rather than the system.

No luck with the dang IS showing up. I have fought with bricks but I am stumped with the IS not showing and the bricks showing fine.

Hi Techteam,

Did you endup resolving this issue? - Im having the same problem at the moment.

Cheers

Rols

If it is 8.6 - check the license.

There are 2 different licenses for Exchange.

1. Exchange option
2. Exchange option for exchange 2000.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for the post - it is Backup Exec 9.1sp1

I can see all the mailboxes fine - but when i highlight the information store it appears empty. (ie i was expecting to see "first information store" or something).
