exchange/microsoft information store

Hi everyone,

I ran updates on my servers the other day. I have server3 which is my exchange server and server1 which runs Veritas. Since I ran the updates I have been getting an error which says:

Performing Remote Agent backup

I have read a lot about not being able to back up the Exchange Information Store. So the first question is... is the 'Microsoft Information Store' the same thing as the 'Microsoft Exchange System Store'. Then secondly how do i get my backups to run again???

I have checked to see if the Information Store directory exists and it doesn't. All servers are running Win2K, I am running Veritas 8.60.

This is really urgent so anyone that can help... please do!!!!!!!!!

Maybe a stupid remark but do you have the exchange agent installed on the exchange server?
If so try to do create a new backup job and drill down in selections to this mailbox store until you can see the mailboxes. If you get an error then your remote agent/exchange agent or backupexec service is not installed right. Try reinstalling from the be console
 
Sorry forgot to update the post... I looked at the services and the Microsoft Exchange Information Store had not started. So I started it and the back up has ran since!!!
