Hi Folks
I wonder if any of you have any ideas about this little problem we've been having?
We back-up 8 Exchange Servers every night, Apart from the usual corrupt files 6 of them are fine but 2 of them have been failing everynight with this message:
Verify of "\\EXGCH02\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes "
Backup set #3 on storage media #1
Backup set description: "Daily from 6/4/2000"
Verify started on 12/03/02 at 22:26:22 .
An inconsistency was encountered on the storage media in QUANTUM 1.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Recently we had to restore some files attached to a mailbox, when we ran the restore it gave us the exact same message:
An inconsistency was encountered on the storage media in QUANTUM 1.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
We managed to restore the files eventually using 3 different backups.
We have tried some test restores but get the same problem.
We have so far tried new media, Changing and stopping compression, no change from any of these.
I have checked the Knowledge base and here but could find no clues.
All the Exchange servers are set up the same, HP Netserver LH3R, QUANTUM DLT 8000 drives,
B Exec 8.0 Rev.3311+Agent for MS Exchange, Exchange 5.5, Win NT.
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks
Ed
