Good morning,
I would like to start doing incremental backups on my Exchange 5.5 server, the problem is that I dont have a lot of disk space and I am afraid that the log files that are created by the Incremental backup will affect the opperation of the machine. There is approx
2.62GB of space on the disk, should this be a sufficiant ammount of space to complete the backup and delete the log file that are created for a priv.edb database that is approx 72GB?
Thanks in advanced,
MEAB

I'm a little confused by what you've written. What sort of Exchange backups are you doing now?

If you're short of space, moving away from a nightly full backup is a bad idea - a full backup is purging the transaction logs from your disk rather than letting then accumulate.

Presumably you have your transaction logs on a different volume to your priv.edb? If so, which volume is it that has 2.62GB of free space left?

faq10-6004 will fill you in on all the details of backup, restore and DR. Have a read of it, every Exchange 5.5 administrator of a production email server needs to be familiar with the contents.

Nevermind, it seems that the databases are not on the same drive... Ill probable move all the databases to the D: drive which has plenty of space.
Thnaks,
MEAB
