Exchange / global catalog ?

Decided to upgrade to exchange 2003 at the office over the weekend.. having issues

Exchange cannot see the Global catalog, thus cannot authenticate thus cannot start..

I demoted the old windows 2000 domain controller

Then exchange died

It found that there was a new PDC, but could not authenticate against it.(could not find a global catalog)

I went into active directory Sites and Services and found that everything was set up just fine (well, nothing missing anyway)

i suspect dns issues

you might want to investigate in that direction....

How many DCs (2003 or 2000) are there? Reboot all that are global catalog servers.
 
I agree with EvilBart ... If you know there are GC's out there ... then it's going to be a DNS issue ....
