Hi All
I want to add front end exchange2003 server and a webserver into our DMZ. Is it a good idea to run them on same machine or not. I want to let users get mail from home and see intranet services.

TIA

Exchange requires IIS (as you are probably aware) so you 'could' do it. All depends on how many users would need it, what sort of web app you would like to use, how big a network you are dealing with etc.

We are running a front-end back topology for our email system. We have Exchange's OWA (Outlook Web Access) up and running and supporting about 400 users. It was pretty easy to set up the OWA; the part that you have to pay attention to the DMZ configuration; but once that is set up and the front and back are talking it pretty straight forward from there - I know that Microsoft has some tech papers about this - and they are very helpful.

Thanks Andreh and Cered
That gives me a little more confidence.
I was talking to Microsoft partner who said doing so
probably isn't recommended by microsoft and I could have some problems with configuring seeing I will have to open 2 ports instead of one. One for mail and other for web.
Very interested on your take on that.

Cheers DDUUHH.
