Hi,

I have a problem with my Exchange server which I think is caused but me VPN. The VPN is connected to a seperate domain which we use to syncronize e-mail and data in semi real time.
The method I use is Exmerge to export data from Exchange to the other domain where I exmerge it back in to the other server. It works really well as it only copies changes in mailbox to PST but there is a problem. Clients have been expereincing Outlook MAPI profile corruption when using Outlook and the only way to send mail is to recreate the profile...
Both Exchange servers are running on Windows 2003 server SP1. My primary Exchange server is SP1 and the one at the end of the VPN is un sp'd

There is no DNS setup to link the 2 sites they just connect over IP address.

Can anyone help with this as I have tried everything. Would it be a good idea to SP1 the remote Exchange server as this may be causing a problem, are the any MS fixes for the servers to stop this happening?

The VPN is a windows one and is running as part of the ROuting and Remote Access consol!

Some help would be good!!!!

You have to use an Integration server in order to make the two separate domains work together. Pain in the tucas but it will work. For instance you have two domains and two global address lists and you want one domain to see the other in exchange. Or you a senario like yours.

Its all looks very complicated. I don't want to really integrate the 2 domains just move data down the VPN. Question:

Why do Outlook CLients lose connections to the Exchange server when the VPN is connected?
