Can anyone help me with how to configure Exchange with the SBS Windows 2003 for POP3 accounts - the ISP I am working with does not support IMAP or Exchange Mailboxes.

All mailboxes offered are POP3.

Many thanks

Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding you. If you hold the server, then you probably hold the cards, unless your ISP actively blocks IMAP and HTTP ports. Your ISP doesn't need to support them: YOU need to support them. So if you can use anything you liked, what would you use?

For your internal users you can use Exchange (MAPI) connections. For users that need to connect to you from the outside, you can use Outlook Web Access, or you can publish IMAP or POP3 or even RPC-over-HTTP. You have several options.

other than that you can use the pop 3 connector, you will find it under internet and email tab and pop3 connection manager. downside is i dont think you can configure the connection manager to collect more frequently than every 15 minutes.

Thanks to all - how would I configure the server for internal users (MAPI) please ShackDaddy and how do I publish IMAP /POP3/RPC over HTTP. Sorry to trouble you, but this is all new territory for me and any help is greatly appreciated. Most users will be internal users anyway.

Thank you very much...

Then you need to do some reading. And the answers to your questions are all available via Google.

The server is already configured for internal users.

Bled, we'd be happy to help you work out the kinks in something or give you advice as far as direction, but we can't drive your car. You need to drive. And if that means figuring out which is the clutch and which the gas pedal, you'll need to do that before we can advise you on where to go.

There are a few POP3 to Exchange 3rd party programs available. I use GFI Mail Essentials - but there are others.
