Exchange ActiveSync on iPhone

I have a few users with new iPhone's who are using the Exchange Active sync features with my Ex 2007 standard box. 99.9% is working fine.

The users are having an issue with the calendar on the iPhone not being editable on the iPhone if the appointment was made in Outlook/Exchange; appointments which originate on the iPhone can be edited in Outlook or OWA but once changed can't be edited again on the iPhone.

Windows Mobile users and the few Palm Treo users have not reported this issue so I'm assuming it is not a policy set issue. However, AT&T is telling the individual users to have their administrator change the policies on the server and make sure they have access to their mailbox.

Anybody run across a fix for this or are the users out of luck on this one?

This sounds (and is) dumb, but I've heard that it makes a difference with some Calendaring issues on the iPhone: make sure that when you first set ActiveSync up, you treat the email address and username as case-sensitive. So if your username is TNGPicard in the AD, don't put TNGpicard in when you set up the iPhone. Having the case not match does seem to affect much EXCEPT some calendaring stuff.

Go figure.

Dave -

After a lot of digging I found the same thing (and neglected to post back, been a little busy especially with the hurricane that just hit). The case sensitivity thing did the trick.

Excellent - can one of you make an FAQ for that and I'll give it a high rating.

Oh and hope the hurricane didn't do anything more than make you busy.

Zelandakh -

Made ME very busy as the IT guy esp since my assistants can't get to the office and a few of our sites had computers catch fire when power came back on and they didn't let the computers air out. Anyway, thats off topic.

I will attempt write an FAQ in a few days when I get some time
