Scenerio: One recipient mailbox requiring the ability to receive mail from multiple domains. debo@domain1.com and deborah@domain2.com The recipient alias is debo.

Is this possible?

I can find documentation for situations where the mailbox alias is the same i.e., debo@domain1.com and debo@domain2.com, and mail arrives fine.

The work-around I came up with was to have 2 mailboxes and configure the Delivery Options to an alternate recipient. Providing a "one mailbox to check solution" in a round-about way.

In the IMS > Routing, make sure both domains are listed as incoming.
Go the mailbox 'E-mail addresses' page and add another Internet Address with with the secondary email address.
This negates the need for two mailboxes.

I have this on one of my Exchange servers - each recipient receives mail on three different domain names.

Hope this makes sense.

What are you doing to prevent SMTP relaying? I am working with a similar scenario where a small handful of users need to receive email from domain1.com and domain2.com
When I enable routing and set domain1.com and domain2.com as <inbound>, I can relay email through my server with no problem. Obviously that presents a problem as I don't want to become an open relay for SPAM. Any suggestions or references would be much appreciated.
