Last week there was a temperature problem in the server room that caused the exchange server to crash due to the heat.
The server is running Windows 2000 SP3 with Exchange 5.5 SP4 and the backup software program is on a different server that wasn't affected. I am using Arcserve 2000.
Once it came back online it worked fine, but the backup refueses to do its work. The following error is in the logfile:
E8601 Failed to connect agent. (AGENT=dbaxchg2, EC=402)
I then rebooted the server normally, I assumed that would fix the problem, but it didn't.
Now I have tried to reinstall the agent by first uninstalling it, but once reinstalled it won't verify the user account that was being used before.
It shows this error:
[Authentication Failure: Fail to Create Profile --- Check the [c:\ExchVerify.log ] for detail and make sure the User Mailbox Name or Alias is correct and Unique.< case sensitive!!!>]
CA has a nice solution for that ( but it doesn't work. Even after an other reinstallation of the agent.
I have already applied the fix ( & installed SP4 for the agent. But nothing seems to work.
Also this solution doesn't work:
I am either missing something or something is terrebly wrong. It worked perfectly before the crash. The Eventlog also shows nothing unusual.
Can anyone help me out?
