I'm just curious, has anyone heard of any problems or any difficulty's with running exchange 5.5 on a windows 2000 platform?

I'm having a problem changing the Service Account Password on Exch 5.5 and Win2K servers. Anyone have any ideas?

No problem running 5.5 on Win2K, some IMC issues, but nothing serious. Remember to relay secure your server though!

See thread10-466339 for other tips you may find helpful.

jcondurso,

In Exchange Admin, go through the tree (on the left) to Organization|Site|Configuration. Select Configuration and open the properties. Click on the Service Account Password tab, and change the password here. Doing it anywhere else will not work well.

Fuego007,

Excellent info from the thread jonarden pointed to. This explains how to do an offline restore beautifully to a new server. Would you be able to verify America's question, "I'm just curious, has anyone heard of any problems or any difficulty's with running exchange 5.5 on a windows 2000 platform?". Would the same method apply here? I will be installing a new Windows2000 Member server into our existing NT4 domain and replacing an NT4 server that has our exchange 55 server following the same methods you documented from a Microsoft Article. I assume this would be ok installing Exchange 55 on the Windows2000 member server and restoring via this offline method you note?

TIA,
Zoey
