Hi Guys

I have the following problem..

I have restored my exchange server after it crashed, all seems to be working ok, until i tried to add a new user, which seemed to add ok but outlook wont connect. event error below from exchange server?

Event ID 2080

Process MSEXCHANGEADTOPOLOGYSERVICE.EXE (PID=1804). Exchange Active Directory Provider has discovered the following servers with the following characteristics:
(Server name | Roles | Enabled | Reachability | Synchronized | GC capable | PDC | SACL right | Critical Data | Netlogon | OS Version)
In-site:
DC1 CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 7 1
DC2 CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 0 1
Out-of-site:

thanks

A 2080 isn't an error, only information and runs regularly. How did you restore Exchange?

Does OWA work?

veeam backup, yes OWA does work, so hasn't DC2 got to show CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 7 1 not CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 0 1??

That's only the netlogon settings for the DC. If you rebuilt the Exchange box it shouldn't have changed.

If OWA works, I'd suspect obvious stuff like the firewall, the RPC Client Access Service config or similar. I don't know veeam backup at all, never heard of it so I can't help on what it could change. Does Outlook connect over OA?

The exchange netlogon showed CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 7 1 before it was restored in the event viewer. if i try to configure outlook for an old user it connects fine, only doesn't connect with the new user.

Was this Exchange server also a DC? It is starting to sound like it might have been, or it sounds like you also had to restore a DC. If so, you could be in USN_Rollback after restoring the DC. If it's in USN_Rollback mode, that's trouble and it means that your Exchange server/DC is not replicating with the other DC(s) in the environment, and that would explain why new users aren't working.

Check this link to see if you are in USN Rollback:
