I recently set up a test server with Exchange 2007, and I cannot seem to log in to check messages using Outlook Web Access. Every time I try, it gives me an invalid user name or password error. My experience with Exchange is limited, but I did follow the setup instructions to the letter.

If someone could give me a good idea of what to look for or some "required reading" as far as '07 goes, it would be a great help. I spent some time here and on Technet, but didn't find anything that helped. Thanks!

Can you access the mailbox using another method? MAPI, ActiveSync or even POP3?

First port of call is the event logs. Check security logs as it will probably have failure audits for your account when you tried to logon. It should state the real reason why you cannot logon. If it still goes on about password/username invalid check that the AD connectivity is working OK.

Just to double check, you have created a fully working mailbox for this user account?

Cheers,

Steve.

Are you sure you are logging in as DOMAIN\user?

This is required for Exchange 2007 OWA. Exchange 2003 just required a username and password.

That's only by default. You can easily change it to the 2003 format in EMC.
